Hourly Campus Landscape & Facility Maintenance
Overview:
Innovations Public Charter School is situated on a stunning 9-acre campus on the slopes of Hualālai Mountain. We extend learning beyond classroom walls into thoughtfully maintained outdoor spaces. We're seeking a reliable, hard-working individual to help maintain and beautify our campus learning areas outside of school hours.
Job Summary:
This position supports the ongoing maintenance of outdoor student learning zones by performing tasks such as weeding, mulching, pest control, and light repairs. Work must be conducted after school hours and on weekends to ensure a quiet and safe school day environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform manual landscaping and maintenance work on campus
Weed, mulch, weed-whack, hedge, and apply pest management strategies
Keep landscaping tools and equipment clean and organized
Conduct minor repair work as needed
Lift heavy items and perform other physically demanding tasks
Support other maintenance-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Prior landscaping or maintenance experience preferred but not required
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Reliability and willingness to work flexible, non-traditional hours
Work Schedule:
17 hours per week
Outside of school hours: after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and weekends
Flexible scheduling available
Compensation:
$24.35 per hour
Hourly position; no benefits
17 hours/week qualifies employee’s child/ren for student enrollment consideration (pending space) for their child(ren)
State of Hawaii employees are considered to have a single employer for overtime purposes, regardless of department or agency. Total combined State employment (including this position) cannot exceed 40 hours per week without triggering overtime obligations under federal and state labor laws.
Employees currently working in a salaried State position (such as with the DOE or other State departments may not accept an additional hourly position with Innovations PCS if doing so would result in combined State employment over 40 hours in a workweek.
